A prior reviewer mentioned the pool being dirty -it still is. The furnishings need replacement and obvious signs of neglect are everywhere. Our experience has been not at all like the previous visits or reflective of my previous glowing reviews. Apparently, they were sold to a new investment group just before COVID, which was the last time we were here. I am so sad to write this review, as we've been loyal Topnotch patrons for over 15 years and have stayed here a dozen times or more. Warm Regards, Jeremy Fraize Assistant General Manager I hope this information helps to expand your feelings about our operation truly being a resort experience that can meet your expectations in a future stay. There is also the opportunity to either enjoy a countryside trail or carriage ride on property with Gentle Giants or the Topnotch Stables. Mt ops at the base of the driveway offers bike rentals for the Stowe recreation path which is also only a five minute walk from our main lodge. In addition to those amenities, there are two separate operations on our grounds with additional benefits. We also have a variety of local hiking trails to recommend for outdoor adventures. Across from our main entrance is our newly renovated tennis center which offers court rental, lessons with pros academies and clinics. Beyond the on site mountain view dining in our Roost restaurant, we also have a full service spa offering a variety of treatments, fitness classes including yoga and pilates and personal trainers on staff for developing fitness programs in our weight and cardio rooms. Hello Alan, I'm sorry that you felt we were not meeting your standard of expectation for resort experiences. Seems like $450 entitled me to more than a paper towel bath in the basement. When I asked about a hairdryer, a woman said - “Just let her use the spa.” Yea. So not in the mood for complaints or conflict so left it to adventure. When I was finally directed to the shower, it was in the basement in a “family bathroom.” There were no lockers (that I remember now) and I had to dry myself off with paper towels. I wanted to use the pool after I checked out, but before I left Vermont that evening. My only complaint is the pool-for-guests situation. My sense is they are slammed given the long hours / repeated shifts I saw the poor staff working. They must have been responding to feedback here. Fourth, so many staff people tried so hard to be nice. The adult / kid pool separation is wonderful. It reminded me a lot of the pre-reno Sun Valley, Idaho where I spent summers as a kid. The exhaust fan in my bathroom sounded like a broken car engine - so it stayed off. Second, the property is “loved.” No, it’s not brand new. First, it’s too expensive for what is offered as several reviewers mentioned. I came here for an unexpected last night after the Hyatt property (the Lodge at Spruce Peak) was so obnoxious I couldn’t take it anymore.
